< MEANING >
wave, The thing which rises and falls at a slant, come and extend

< ORIGIN >
「氵」+「皮」
氵 : water
皮 : cover it diagonally

< USE >
波紋 [ha - mo n] : ripple
音波 [o n - pa] : sound wave
波長 [ha - cho u] : wavelength

example) 今日は風が強いので波が高い。 [ kyo-u - wa - ka ze - ga - tsu yo - i no de - na mi - ga - ta ka - i. ] A wave is high today because wind is strong .

也 : opened aside, lengthened aside ( The hieroglyphic formation of the body of the scorpion ( or Reptiles ) which became straightthe. )

< USE >
貯水池 [cho - su i - chi] : reservoir
電池 [de n - chi] : battery

example) 私は池へ釣りに行きます。 [ wa ta si - wa - i ke - e - tsu - ri ni - i - ki ma su. ] I go to the pond for fishing .

ice, be frozen, transparent and clean, cold, easy to melt

< ORIGIN >
A simplified form of "冰".
「冫」+「水」
冫 : be frozen, ( The hieroglyphic formation of the crack of the ice. )
水 : water

< USE >
流氷 [ryu u - hyo u] : Drift ice
氷雨 [hi - sa me] : Cold autumn rain
氷菓 [hyo u - ka] : sherbet
氷結 [hyo u - ke tsu] : freezing

example) 私は氷なしの飲み物を注文します。 [ wa ta si - wa - ko o ri - na si no - no - mi - mo no - wo - chu u - mo n - si ma su. ] I order drink without the ice.
