石 : stone
少 : small ( Simplified form of "沙" )

砂漠 [sa - ba ku] : Desert
砂金 [sa - ki n] : Gold dust
砂場 [su na - ba] : sandbox
砂丘 [sa - kyu u] : dune

example) 私は娘と砂場で遊びます。 [ wa ta si - wa - mu su me - to - su na - ba - de - a so bi - ma su. ] I play with a daughter in a sandbow.

溶岩 [yo u - ga n] : Lava

example) 山頂には沢山の岩があります。 [ sa n - cho u - ni ha - ta ku - sa n - no - i wa - ga a ri ma su. ] There are a lot of rocks on the mountaintop.
