Let's enjoy a Japanese sound !!

Hiragana

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This time, I introduce "A Japanese sound".

A Japanese sound is based on five sounds.
They are ''あ [ a ]'', ''い [ i ]'', ''う [ u ]'', ''え [ e ]'' and ''お [ o ]''. ( a vowel sound )
We make various sounds by putting other sounds ( a consonant ) together in these.

Example )
[ k ] + [ a ] → か [ ka ]

This system is interesting for me.
Don't you think that this seems to be a puzzle of a sound ?

I introduce ''The kanji that transformed itself into あ'' on the next time.

Thank you.
See you next time.

和風 [wa - fu u] japanese
和食 [wa - sho ku] : japanese food

example) 私は和食が好きです。 [wa ta shi wa wa - sho ku ga su ki de su.] : I like japanese food.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This time, I introduce "style of a kanji" on this time.

Kanji has 5 styles mainly.
They are "篆書 (seal character)" "隷書 (demotic semi-square style of Chinese handwriting)" "草書 (grass style)" "楷書 (block style)" "行書 (semi-cursive style)".
These have been developed in China.
The history of development has some opinions.
So, I introduce one opinion this time.

a ) 篆書 [ te n sho ] : seal character
It is said that this is style which developed from the letter which an old person dug to hexangular figure Luo or a bone of an animal.
This is an opening of the history of Kanji.

b ) 隷書 [ re i sho ] : demotic semi-square style of Chinese handwriting
This is style which developed as a substitute of a seal character.
In the days of the beginning, it seems to have been used only as shorthand use.

c ) 草書 [ so u sho ] : grass style
This is style which developed in the time same as the demotic semi-square style of Chinese handwriting.
This was used as shorthand use, too.
Some knowledge is necessary to use this style, and it is difficult to use even a Japanese.

d ) 楷書 [ ka i sho ] : block style
This is the most general form.
Everybody studies this style first.
About the time when this style developed, it is not made clear.

e ) 行書 [ gyo u sho ] : semi-cursive style
This style developed in the time same as the block style.
This is form for shorthand, too.
However, it is written intelligibly more carefully than the grass hand style.

I think that Kanji has been developed in style which it was easy to use for people of the time.
I introduced it before, ''Kana'' was developed by ''Kanji'' in Japan.
Do you know what kind of ''Kana'' was developed from ''和'' ?
It is ''わ [ wa ]'' of ''Hiragana''. ( ''f'' of an upper picture )

Is there a similar style ?

Thank you.
See you next time.

How do you use 3 writing systems ?

< TYPE >
Hiragana

< READING >

< MEANING >
Thank you very much

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This time, I introduce "how to use 3 writing systems".

As I introduced it last time, Japanese use 3 writing systems.
There is not a rule, but we have a good command of it to some extent.

A sentence with many "Kanji" gives a firm impression.
''Kanj'' is used a lot for the document which sat up straight, a document of work and a public document.
When you want to convey correct, faithful thought, it is effective when you use ''Kanji'' a lot precisely.

We use ''Kana'' with a kanji or use it alone.
When we want to express a sense, an onomatopoeia and a mimetic word, we often use "Kana"

When we want to express a smooth feeling, a soft feeling and a gentle feeling and the feeling that calmed down, we use "Hiragana"
Example)
つるつる ( tsu ru tsu ru )
ふわふわ ( fu wa fu wa )
ぽつぽつ ( po tsu po tsu )

When we want to express a feeling with unevenness, a firm feeling, a fearful feeling and the feeling that were excited, we use "Katakana"
When we express pronunciation of a foreign language, we use "Katakana", too.
Example)
ザラザラ ( za ra za ra )
ゴツゴツ ( go tsu go tsu )
ザアザア ( za a za a )

How do you feel ?
Do you feel different ?

As above,
We can express feeling by using Japanese 3 writing systems properly.
This is one of the reasons why I like Japanese.
I want many people to enjoy Japanese 3 writing systems.

I introduce ''Style of a kanji'' on the next time.

Thank you.
See you next time.

Japanese use 3 writing systems.

< TYPE >

< READING >
katakana, hiragana, kanji

< MEANING >

< ORIGIN >

< USE >

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This time, I introduce "3 writing systems"

Japanese use 3 writing systems.
They are ''Kanji'', ''Hiragana'' and ''Katakana''.

"Kanji" is the character which came to Japan from China.
It said that Japan did not have a character before ''Kanji'' came.
I think that ''Kanji'' is one of the things which gave Japanese culture big influence.

"Hiragana" and "Katakana" are called "Kana", and they are same group.
These are the character which made a kanji abbreviation or parts of a kanji.

In old days, a man used ''Kanji'' and a woman used ''Kana''.
But, there is not use by sex now.
We put these together and use it.

I introduce "how to use 3 systems" on the next time.

Thank you.
See you next time.
