< MEANING >
nose, at the start, first thing

< ORIGIN >
「自」+「lower part」
自 : The form of the nose ( hieroglyph )
lower part : A state to hand a round thing to a hand from a hand.
The kanji that expressed the characteristic of a narrow nasal cavity.

< USE >
鼻腔 [bi - ku u] : nasal cavity
鼻先 [ha na - sa ki] : tip of nose
鼻息 [ha na - i ki] : snort
