Kanji / ka i - sho style

< READING >
The japanese reading : ha ra
The sound reading : fu ku

< MEANING >
stomach, front, middle, relative, The thought that was hidden, heart, have, willpower, mind

< ORIGIN >
「月」+「right part」
月 : body, meat
right part : be piled and swell out
The abdomen which the bowels were piled up and swelled out.

< USE >
私腹 [si - fu ku] : personal advantage
満腹 [ma n - pu ku](special reading) : full stomach
立腹 [ri - ppu ku](special reading) : anger

example) 彼は腹を立てました。 [ ka re - wa - ha ra - wo - ta - te ma si ta. ] He got angry.

I introduce ''腹'' on this time.

When we want to express the whole abdomen, we often use this kanji.

The samurai seems to have committed harakiri ( = 切腹 ).
The modern Japanese does not.
