艹 : plant
lower part : The hieroglyph of "three pieces of leaves which there is on a tree".

紅葉 [ko u - yo u] : colored leaves
落葉 [ra ku - yo u] : fallen leaves
葉書 [ha - ga ki] : postcard

example) 葉が茂る [ ha - ga - si ge - ru. ] Leaves grow thick.
